The season may have finished but there has still been plenty happening over the last few weeks at West Mon. At the club's recent AGM, two long serving officers and servants in the shape of President John Price and Chairman Dilwyn Lear decided not to stand for re-election after serving in these positions for 10 and 7 years respectively.
As a result, Rob Young was a popular choice as the new Chairman of the club whilst Dilwyn Lear continues his 20 year association as West Mon's new President.
Other than the above, most of last season's committee remain although some new blood has been added in the form of Duane and Jackie Gardner plus an enthusiastic Jonny Coleman.
The club also has held its presentation evening when the following awards were given.
Player of the year – Luke Shelton.
Players player – Robbie Baldock.
Most promising – Jonny Coleman.
Most improved – Kyle Lucas.
Breakthrough player – Alex Chapman.
Players Clubman – Dion Perry.
Clubman Award – Tom Hayes.
Loyalty Award – Duane Gardner.
Other awards were given to Tam Jones and Mark Hughes in recognition of their hard word behind the scenes whilst the Captain's tankard went to Robbie Baldock who led the team with distinction for most of 2016/17 after the unfortunate injury to Gav Wheatstone.
