West Mon RFC is pleased to announce that the captain for the 18/19 season will be the popular Luke Royal. Now in his 4th season with the club (and recently married), Luke is a strong running and skillful centre who has appointed formidable loose head prop Scottie Leonard as his deputy.
The club has also announced its management team as head coach Dale Perry looks to build on last year's excellent season which saw the side finish the league in a very respectable 5th position, whilst the club also lifted silverware in the shape of the Reg Buttress Shield.
Dale will be assisted by WRU level 2 coach Robbie Taylor who has been appointed technical coach, having recently retired from playing with Pontypool United, whom he helped win the Ben Francis cup twice and promotion to division 1E.
In addition to the above, ex New Panteg and Croesyceiliog fullback Chris Small and the long serving Gavin Trollope complete the set up as coaching assistants
The final piece of the management jigsaw sees the crucial role of team manager filled by club stalwart Duane Gardner.
Training has commenced every Tuesday and Thursday at Pilcs club. Players of all abilities are welcome to attend the sessions which commence 7pm
