An incredible second half at the Stad de Skew, saw West Mon turn around a 19 point deficit and start the league campaign and its 70th season in fine style with a bonus point victory against a very competitive opponent. This seemed an unlikely outcome when with 20 minutes to go, the home team had conceded a 5th try and were looking a well beaten side. However some timely substitutions and an increasingly dominant home pack in which Scott Morris and Scott Leonard were outstanding, saw West Mon gain the field position from where they could implement their power game.
